Extra Second London
Join us for a cosy poetry, spoken word, music and discussion night on the last Saturday of every month. Hosted by Kid Anansi and Julie G, we offer open mic slots before we embark on the monthly discussion topic. Our discussions provide a healing space for spoken word performers and audiences to connect and reflect on the writing and performing processes. We think we’re the only open mic night offering a discussion section which we provide to make the evening open and accessible to everyone at different stages of their journey, as an engaged audience member, a new writer and performer or a seasoned pro!
Open mic slots are 5 minutes but that's not a limit, we always give open mic-ers a few Extra Seconds, as our name suggests.
Join us from 6.30pm for a 7pm start.

Our theme this month is MUSIC
We're celebrating melody and rhythm, the sound that moves the body, from bopping heads to shaking hips and tapping feet!
Music and poetry are both best friends and lovers; a poet's flow can be the percussion and the song. As always, you don't have to perform something musical or music-themed; all iterations of the spoken word are welcome! Join us Saturday July 26th to play and share.
