Our Trustees

Sapna is a Chartered Accountant with extensive experience in treasury services at global banks. Now working as a consultant and in the food industry, she brings financial expertise and strategic insight to the board. Passionate about culture, history, and the arts, she has recently authored a cookbook on Sindhi cuisine, celebrating its rich heritage. Sapna is a trustee for SMH because she strongly believes in the transformative and therapeutic power of the arts in creative public health.

Fr. Brian is a Church of England Vicar who has served East End Parishes for over 30 years. He is currently Vicar of St Barnabas, Bethnal Green and previously worked at St John on Bethnal Green and St Leonard’s, Shoreditch. He was previously School Chaplain at Raines Foundation School and chair of Unleash Homeless Hub working with young people in Central London. Fr. Brian has been Chaplain of St Margaret’s House since 1995. Outside of work, he is a big Aston Villa fan but attends home matches at Leyton Orient as it is easier to get to. He is also a Body Control Pilates teacher.

Tracy works in complementary health, with skills in communication, organisation and education. Away from work, Tracy enjoys yoga, cinema and gardening on her allotment. Tracy is a trustee for SMH because she is keen to support arts and wellbeing in the community of Bethnal Green and beyond.

Annie is the Head of Communications for a city law firm, specialising in PR, change management and employee engagement. Outside of work, she runs a community book group and is a keen cook. Annie joined the SMH Board of Trustees to help strengthen the charity’s wonderful work with commercial insights and comms support.

Catherine is Head of Learning and Engagement at Young V&A, with skills in creative and cultural education, and community engagement. Away from work, Catherine is a non-executive director at the London Design and Engineering UTC and sings with the London Forest Choir in East London. Catherine is a trustee for St Margaret’s House because she wants to support creativity and wellbeing in East London communities.

Chloë is a designer with a background in architecture, heritage, and wellbeing. At present, she is undertaking a Masters in Socially Engaged Practice in Museums and Galleries. When not studying, Chloë can be found crafting, creating illuminated records of TTRPG playthroughs, or playing her bass in gigs across London. Chloë is a trustee for SMH because she values the transformative power of creative health and wants to facilitate the renovation of SMH’s buildings to reflect the charity’s presence as an open, accessible, and welcoming space for East Londoners.

Lara is a journalist and documentary filmmaker with experience working in art galleries, cultural festivals and community spaces. Away from work, she enjoys cooking, crafting and hiking. Lara is an SMH trustee because she believes in the importance of the open, welcoming spaces that SMH provides to charities and locals alike in creating a sense of community among long-time, and new residents of Bethnal Green.

Mana is a co-founder and COO of a regulated investment manager. Her competences include alternative investments, financial accounting and compliance. When not at work, Mana enjoys spending time with her young family, long walks and runs around East London's parks. Mana is a trustee for SMH because she is acutely aware of the challenges of modern life and keen to learn and contribute to a happier and healthier local community.

Mythili is a senior clinical lecturer and NHS doctor, with skills in caring for patients, working in medical education, curriculum development and within medical, academic and community groups to support health and wellbeing. She is currently training as a mindfulness teacher. Away from work, Mythili enjoys composing and performing music for media and as a solo artist. She also works in animal rescue and loves growing vegetables and flowers to share with friends, family and nature. Mythili is a trustee for SMH because she believes creative health and social prescribing are key to maintaining healthy and happy communities. She is passionate about the creative health work being done at SMH, as it plays an instrumental role in healing people and supporting the work of her medical and academic colleagues. She hopes that creative health will continue to be embedded within the landscape of the NHS.

Olivia is Head of Development Viability within Planning and Building Control at Tower Hamlets Council, with skills in public policy, residential surveying and social impact research. Outside of work, she is head of partnerships at Afro Trance Dance, an inclusive conscious dance movement. Olivia is a trustee for SMH because she wants to improve and protect the buildings of the SMH site as well as support the vision of creative health for the local communities.

Simina is a community worker, trainee counsellor and psychotherapist, and curator, with skills in charity operations and fundraising. Away from work, Simina enjoys developing her artistic practice and engaging in the free/affordable cultural offer of London. Simina is a trustee for SMH because she is committed to supporting the creative health sector.
