Event: Community Eid Party

  • St. Margaret's House 21 Old Ford Road London, England, E2 9PL United Kingdom (map)

Join us for a relaxed and fun Community Eid Party—a celebration of cultures, community, and creativity

As a token of gratitude to the community, our current Artist in Residence Shahena Begum will be hosting a festive Eid party to mark the end of Ramadan and her residency. With the help of St. Margaret's House, @Mahart23, @EastAfricanCollective, @ClarionFutures, @MindfulPhotoLab, and (anyone else who would like to get involved), we'll celebrate the melting pot that is East London and bring people together.

Highlights of the Event:

  • Mehndi Workshop (2-4pm): A relaxed mehndi workshop with Mehndi Passionate and Artist Maha, where you can practice your henna skills and have fun. This cherished tradition resonates with many cultures.

  • Dress-Up: Step into the spotlight and get your portrait taken while dressing up in your best Eid attire! Embrace the tradition of wearing your finest clothes on Eid while promoting sustainability with locally sourced outfits.

  • World Food Table: Share your roots by bringing a dish to our world food table! Enjoy snacks and dishes from all over the globe. Food is central to any celebration, and our table will reflect the diverse culinary delights found in London homes.

  • Children's Activity Table: Keep the little ones entertained and inspired with homemade playdoh and crafts.

  • Art and Cake Stalls: Get your hands on some prints or a sweet treat, with proceeds going towards medical aid for Palestine.

  • Reading Corner: Enjoy a cosy read, with books borrowed from local libraries and sourced from the local community.

  • Photography Workshop(10:30 am & 11:30am): With Pierre and Mindful Photo Lab (see workshop details here)

Thanks to Clarion Futures funding, we'll also have hot food to enjoy! Come together, celebrate, and make memories at this joyful After Eid Party. Let's embrace the spirit of community and creativity and support a meaningful cause. See you there
